Welcome to Ralston Elementary

As we head into a new school year here at Ralston Elementary what better way to welcome students and staff then to unveil the brand new webspace for the community! Our new webpage features the latest web and eLearning platform to provide students, parents, and teachers with the best tools for success.

Our webpage isn’t the only news at Ralston; there are some staffing changes to announce. Huge congratulations to Mrs. Susan Tice (first grade) and Mrs. Sarah Patterson (fourth grade) who are both about to embark on the new adventure of retirement. While we will miss them dearly, we wish them nothing but the very best and hope they will come back and visit often.

Mrs. Sarah Huyler has been hired to teach fourth grade English language arts and social studies. Mrs. Huyler comes to Ralston from Ute Meadows Elementary where she has been teaching ELA and social studies to fifth and sixth graders for the past two years. Ms. Bianchi will remain in fourth grade, but she will be teaching math and science.

Mr. Bromfield (sixth grade) has accepted a position with Creighton Middle School where he will be teaching Technology Education. Mr. Bromfield will also be greatly missed, however, he has found his dream position and it just doesn’t get any better than that! Ms. Wood (formerly in third grade) will be moving up to sixth grade to teach STEM (math and science). Ms. Wood is excited to expand her experience into the world of sixth grade and we are excited that she will be joining Mrs. Hinojos in sixth grade.

Additionally, we will be saying “ta ta for now” as opposed to “good-bye” to Ms. Lindsay Garlow. Ms. Garlow, who has served Ralston as the Digital Teacher Librarian, Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal, is moving to another position in the district. Lindsay’s years of service are greatly appreciated and all of us will miss her presence and contributions. Ralston has hired an Instructional Coach and a half-time Digital Teacher Librarian to wear two of the hats Lindsay wore this school year.

Mrs. Sari Stone will be Ralston’s Instructional Coach. Mrs. Stone comes to us from Lumberg Elementary. She has 23 years of experience including work as an Instructional Coach, Data Coach, Math Coach, Literacy Coach, GT Coordinator, Staff Developer and teacher. Mrs. Nebeker will be joining Ralston as a part-time Digital Teacher Librarian. She has been serving full-time as the Digital Teacher Librarian at Everitt Middle School for the past three years and she also has five years of teaching experience.

Finally and sadly, due to budget constraints we have had to make adjustments to staffing for our Art, Music, and Physical Education (AMP) teachers. Mrs. Kneuer (P.E.) and Mr. Osmack (Art) will be teaching all students in 1st – 6th grades just as in the past. However, each of them must also teach 2 out of each 6 days at another school. Our kindergarteners will still be provided AMP instruction, but it will be delivered by paraprofessionals who will be co-planning with the AMP teachers. Ms. Kentner has decided to accept a shared Music position at two schools closer to her home. Her shoes will be immensely hard to fill! As part of the shared AMP situation, Ralston’s Music instruction will be delivered by two teachers, Ms. Becky Hancock-Reed and Mr. John Mendez. Ms. Reed also works at Pfeiffer Elementary and Mr. Mendez also works at Hutchinson Elementary. Ralston will be working diligently through next year’s budget process to return to a full-time AMP model.

Please join us in wishing all those staff members leaving us with the best of everything while simultaneously extending a great big warm Ralston welcome to the new members of the Ralston family!

Please take some time to explore our new webspace and come back regularly for news and updates!
